Roberto Rocca is the Founder and Principal Adviser of Meridian Governance Advisory Ltd. He brings more than two decades of international experience across the financial services, charitable and public sectors, advising boards and senior leaders on governance, risk, compliance and safeguarding oversight.
Before establishing Meridian, Roberto held senior roles with leading international financial institutions, including J.P. Morgan, BNY Mellon and Barclays. Working in highly regulated environments across multiple jurisdictions, he supported governance frameworks, regulatory oversight, risk management and organisational accountability. This experience provides a strong foundation for helping boards navigate complexity while maintaining effective governance and public confidence.
Alongside his professional career, Roberto has built an extensive portfolio of governance and trustee appointments, giving him direct insight into the responsibilities and challenges faced by boards.

Roberto has served in elected public office in both Italy and the United Kingdom. He was an elected Councillor for the Comune di Milano between 1997 and 2011 and later served as an elected Councillor for Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council from 2019 to 2023, including as Vice-Chair of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
He was elected Mayor of Bournemouth (Dorset, UK) in May 2026 — the 112th to hold the role since the office was established in 1890.
